An Entirely New Genre of Online Engagement
Loneliness is the "quiet devastation" that cuts across generations and reaches around the world.
Social isolation and loneliness are CRITICAL and COSTLY health problems.
Loneliness is a hallmark for seniors and costs Medicare an estimated $6.7 billion annually.
A scientific collaboration with the University of Montana and Cornell University inadvertently led Montana’s Dunrovin Guest Ranch to create D@D as a webcam-based Cyber Front Porch.
In human terms, D@D is a cyber front porch where people gather in a safe place to immerse themselves in life at Dunrovin Ranch, socialize, participate in activities, make friends, and be part of the Dunrovin neighborhood no matter where their feet are.
In technical terms, D@D is a subscription-based, member-driven, and content-focused social platform. D@D uses high tech (webcams) and low tech (snail mail) to engage members with Dunrovin’s landscapes, animals, people, activities, and each other.
